RHSA-2023:4492: Red Hat Security Advisory: thunderbird security update

Ubuntu Security Notice 6406-1 - Several security issues were discovered in the SpiderMonkey JavaScript library. If a user were tricked into opening malicious JavaScript applications or processing malformed data, a remote attacker could exploit a variety of issues related to JavaScript security, including denial of service attacks, and arbitrary code execution.

Ubuntu Security Notice 6333-1 - Junsung Lee discovered that Thunderbird did not properly validate the text direction override unicode character in filenames. An attacker could potentially exploits this issue by spoofing file extension while attaching a file in emails. Max Vlasov discovered that Thunderbird Offscreen Canvas did not properly track cross-origin tainting. An attacker could potentially exploit this issue to access image data from another site in violation of same-origin policy.

Plus: Mozilla patches more than a dozen vulnerabilities in Firefox, and enterprise companies Ivanti, Cisco, and SAP roll out a slew of updates to get rid of some high-severity bugs.
