GHSA-w5w5-8vfh-xcjq: whoami stack buffer overflow on several Unix platforms

With versions of the whoami crate >= 0.5.3 and < 1.5.0, calling any of these functions leads to an immediate stack buffer overflow on illumos and Solaris: - `whoami::username` - `whoami::realname` - `whoami::username_os` - `whoami::realname_os` With versions of the whoami crate >= 0.5.3 and < 1.0.1, calling any of the above functions also leads to a stack buffer overflow on these platforms: - Bitrig - DragonFlyBSD - FreeBSD - NetBSD - OpenBSD This occurs because of an incorrect definition of the `passwd` struct on those platforms. As a result of this issue, denial of service and data corruption have both been observed in the wild. The issue is possibly exploitable as well. This vulnerability also affects other Unix platforms that aren't Linux or macOS. This issue has been addressed in whoami 1.5.0. For more information, see [this GitHub issue](https://github.com/ardaku/whoami/issues/91).

GHSA-q6cp-qfwq-4gcv: h2 servers vulnerable to degradation of service with CONTINUATION Flood

An attacker can send a flood of CONTINUATION frames, causing `h2` to process them indefinitely. This results in an increase in CPU usage. Tokio task budget helps prevent this from a complete denial-of-service, as the server can still respond to legitimate requests, albeit with increased latency. More details at https://seanmonstar.com/blog/hyper-http2-continuation-flood/. Patches available for 0.4.x and 0.3.x versions.

GHSA-mcw6-3256-64gg: Mattermost Server doesn't limit the number of user preferences

Mattermost Server versions 9.5.x before 9.5.2, 9.4.x before 9.4.4, 9.3.x before 9.3.3, 8.1.x before 8.1.11 don't limit the number of user preferences which allows an attacker to send a large number of user preferences potentially causing denial of service.

GHSA-5pgg-2g8v-p4x9: SheetJS Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS)

SheetJS Community Edition before 0.20.2 is vulnerable.to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS).

Ivanti Pledges Security Overhaul the Day After 4 More Vulns Disclosed

So far this year, Ivanti has disclosed a total of 10 flaws — many of them critical — in its remote access products, and one in its ITSM product.

Debian Security Advisory 5654-1

Debian Linux Security Advisory 5654-1 - Security issues were discovered in Chromium, which could result in the execution of arbitrary code, denial of service or information disclosure.

Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6710-2

Ubuntu Security Notice 6710-2 - USN-6710-1 fixed vulnerabilities in Firefox. The update introduced several minor regressions. This update fixes the problem. Manfred Paul discovered that Firefox did not properly perform bounds checking during range analysis, leading to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability. A attacker could use this to cause a denial of service, or execute arbitrary code. Manfred Paul discovered that Firefox incorrectly handled MessageManager listeners under certain circumstances. An attacker who was able to inject an event handler into a privileged object may have been able to execute arbitrary code.

New HTTP/2 Vulnerability Exposes Web Servers to DoS Attacks

New research has found that the CONTINUATION frame in the HTTP/2 protocol can be exploited to conduct denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. The technique has been codenamed HTTP/2 CONTINUATION Flood by security researcher Bartek Nowotarski, who reported the issue to the CERT Coordination Center (CERT/CC) on January 25, 2024. "Many HTTP/2 implementations do not properly limit or sanitize the
