Ubuntu Security Notice 6888-2 - USN-6888-1 fixed several vulnerabilities in Django. This update provides the corresponding update for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Elias Myllymäki discovered that Django incorrectly handled certain inputs with a large number of brackets. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Django to consume resources or stop responding, resulting in a denial of service.
Red Hat Security Advisory 2024-4522-03 - An update is now available for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.4. Issues addressed include a denial of service vulnerability.
Vault and Vault Enterprise did not properly handle requests originating from unauthorized IP addresses when the TCP listener option, proxy_protocol_behavior, was set to deny_unauthorized. When receiving a request from a source IP address that was not listed in proxy_protocol_authorized_addrs, the Vault API server would shut down and no longer respond to any HTTP requests, potentially resulting in denial of service. While this bug also affected versions of Vault up to 1.17.1 and 1.16.5, a separate regression in those release series did not allow Vault operators to configure the deny_unauthorized option, thus not allowing the conditions for the denial of service to occur. Fixed in Vault and Vault Enterprise 1.17.2, 1.16.6, and 1.15.12.
### Summary Denial of service vulnerability. ### Details See: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-447r-wph3-92pm and https://github.com/dotnet/announcements/issues/312 ### PoC Update System.Security.Cryptography.Pkcs to 8.0.1 so that the transitive dependency with the issue gets updated ### Impact Denial of service vulnerability. Affects MimeKit (>= v3.0.0 and <= v4.7.0) when used to decrypt or verify incoming S/MIME messages as well as importing 3rd-party X.509 certificates for use with encrypting outgoing S/MIME messages.
Ubuntu Security Notice 6891-1 - It was discovered that Python incorrectly handled certain inputs. An attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary code. This issue only affected Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. It was discovered that Python incorrectly used regular expressions vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service. This issue only affected Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
Ubuntu Security Notice 6892-1 - It was discovered that the ATA over Ethernet driver in the Linux kernel contained a race condition, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. It was discovered that the Atheros 802.11ac wireless driver did not properly validate certain data structures, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. An attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of service.
Ubuntu Security Notice 6866-3 - It was discovered that the ext4 file system implementation in the Linux kernel did not properly validate data state on write operations. An attacker could use this to construct a malicious ext4 file system image that, when mounted, could cause a denial of service. It was discovered that the ATA over Ethernet driver in the Linux kernel contained a race condition, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
