By Chetan Raghuprasad and Vanja Svajcer. Cisco Talos discovered a malicious campaign in August 2022 delivering Cobalt Strike beacons that could be used in later, follow-on attacks. Lure themes in the phishing documents in this campaign are related to the job details of a government organization in the United States and a trade union in New Zealand. The attack involves a multistage and modular infection chain with fileless, malicious scripts. Cisco Talos recently discovered a malicious campaign with a modularised attack technique to deliver Cobalt Strike beacons on infected endpoints. The initial vector of this attack is a phishing email with a malicious Microsoft Word document attachment containing an exploit that attempts to exploit the vulnerability CVE-2017-0199, a remote code execution issue in Microsoft Office. If a victim opens the maldoc, it downloads a malicious Word document template hosted on an attacker-controlled Bitbucket repository. Talos discovered two attack met...
An SQL injection vulnerability in Advantech iView 5.7.04.6469. The specific flaw exists within the ConfigurationServlet endpoint, which listens on TCP port 8080 by default. An unauthenticated remote attacker can craft a special column_value parameter in the setConfiguration action to bypass checks in com.imc.iview.utils.CUtils.checkSQLInjection() to perform SQL injection. For example, the attacker can exploit the vulnerability to retrieve the iView admin password.
Red Hat Security Advisory 2022-6696-01 - Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes 2.4.6 General Availability release images, which fix bugs and update container images. Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact of Critical. Issues addressed include crlf injection and denial of service vulnerabilities.
Veritas Backup Exec Agent supports multiple authentication schemes and SHA authentication is one of them. This authentication scheme is no longer used within Backup Exec versions, but had not yet been disabled. An attacker could remotely exploit the SHA authentication scheme to gain unauthorized access to the BE Agent and execute an arbitrary OS command on the host with NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM or root privileges depending on the platform. The vulnerability presents in 16.x, 20.x and 21.x versions of Backup Exec up to 21.2 (or up to and including Backup Exec Remote Agent revision 9.3).

The Scripts Organizer WordPress plugin before 3.0 does not have capability and CSRF checks in the saveScript AJAX action, available to both unauthenticated and authenticated users, and does not validate user input in any way, which could allow unauthenticated users to put arbitrary PHP code in a file
A China-aligned advanced persistent threat actor known as TA413 weaponized recently disclosed flaws in Sophos Firewall and Microsoft Office to deploy a never-before-seen backdoor called LOWZERO as part of an espionage campaign aimed at Tibetan entities. Targets primarily consisted of organizations associated with the Tibetan community, including enterprises associated with the Tibetan
Apache Pulsar Brokers and Proxies create an internal Pulsar Admin Client that does not verify peer TLS certificates, even when tlsAllowInsecureConnection is disabled via configuration. The Pulsar Admin Client's intra-cluster and geo-replication HTTPS connections are vulnerable to man in the middle attacks, which could leak authentication data, configuration data, and any other data sent by these clients. An attacker can only take advantage of this vulnerability by taking control of a machine 'between' the client and the server. The attacker must then actively manipulate traffic to perform the attack. This issue affects Apache Pulsar Broker and Proxy versions 2.7.0 to 2.7.4; 2.8.0 to 2.8.3; 2.9.0 to 2.9.2; 2.10.0; 2.6.4 and earlier.
