Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6819-1

Ubuntu Security Notice 6819-1 - Alon Zahavi discovered that the NVMe-oF/TCP subsystem in the Linux kernel did not properly validate H2C PDU data, leading to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. Chenyuan Yang discovered that the RDS Protocol implementation in the Linux kernel contained an out-of-bounds read vulnerability. An attacker could use this to possibly cause a denial of service.

Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6818-1

Ubuntu Security Notice 6818-1 - Alon Zahavi discovered that the NVMe-oF/TCP subsystem in the Linux kernel did not properly validate H2C PDU data, leading to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. It was discovered that the Intel Data Streaming and Intel Analytics Accelerator drivers in the Linux kernel allowed direct access to the devices for unprivileged users and virtual machines. A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service.

Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6817-1

Ubuntu Security Notice 6817-1 - Ziming Zhang discovered that the DRM driver for VMware Virtual GPU did not properly handle certain error conditions, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. A local attacker could possibly trigger this vulnerability to cause a denial of service. Zheng Wang discovered that the Broadcom FullMAC WLAN driver in the Linux kernel contained a race condition during device removal, leading to a use- after-free vulnerability. A physically proximate attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of service.

Ubuntu Security Notice USN-6816-1

Governments, Businesses Tighten Cybersecurity Around Hajj Season

While cyberattacks drop slightly during the week of the Islamic pilgrimage, organizations in Saudi Arabia and other countries with large Muslim populations see attacks on the rise.

GHSA-8x2v-pcg7-94f4: Zend-JSON vulnerable to XXE/XEE attacks

Numerous components utilizing PHP's DOMDocument, SimpleXML, and xml_parse functionality are vulnerable to two types of attacks: - XML eXternal Entity (XXE) Injection attacks. The above mentioned extensions are insecure by default, allowing external entities to be specified by adding a specific DOCTYPE element to XML documents and strings. By exploiting this vulnerability an application may be coerced to open arbitrary files and/or TCP connections. - XML Entity Expansion (XEE) vectors, leading to Denial of Service vectors. XEE attacks occur when the XML DOCTYPE declaration includes XML entity definitions that contain either recursive or circular references; this leads to CPU and memory consumption, making Denial of Service exploits trivial to implement.

GHSA-2jx7-xg83-j2m7: Zendframework Denial of Service vector via XEE injection

`Zend_Dom`, `Zend_Feed`, `Zend_Soap`, and `Zend_XmlRpc` are vulnerable to XML Entity Expansion (XEE) vectors, leading to Denial of Service vectors. XEE attacks occur when the XML DOCTYPE declaration includes XML entity definitions that contain either recursive or circular references; this leads to CPU and memory consumption, making Denial of Service exploits trivial to implement.

GHSA-whf4-fpj8-pgg8: ebookmeta XML External Entity vulnerability

An XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in the `ebookmeta.get_metadata` function of ebookmeta before v1.2.8 allows attackers to access sensitive information or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via crafted XML input.

GHSA-hx54-pf28-7xch: ebookmeta XML External Entity vulnerability

An XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in the `ebookmeta.get_metadata` function via lxml dependency allows attackers to access sensitive information or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via crafted XML input.
