## Summary Nokogiri v1.18.3 upgrades its dependency libxml2 to [v2.13.6](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/releases/v2.13.6). libxml2 v2.13.6 addresses: - CVE-2025-24928 - described at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/847 - CVE-2024-56171 - described at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/828 ## Impact ### CVE-2025-24928 Stack-buffer overflow is possible when reporting DTD validation errors if the input contains a long (~3kb) QName prefix. ### CVE-2024-56171 Use-after-free is possible during validation against untrusted XML Schemas (.xsd) and, potentially, validation of untrusted documents against trusted Schemas if they make use of `xsd:keyref` in combination with recursively defined types that have additional identity constraints.

### Summary There is a possibility for denial of service by memory exhaustion in `net-imap`'s response parser. At any time while the client is connected, a malicious server can send can send highly compressed `uid-set` data which is automatically read by the client's receiver thread. The response parser uses `Range#to_a` to convert the `uid-set` data into arrays of integers, with no limitation on the expanded size of the ranges. ### Details IMAP's `uid-set` and `sequence-set` formats can compress ranges of numbers, for example: `"1,2,3,4,5"` and `"1:5"` both represent the same set. When `Net::IMAP::ResponseParser` receives `APPENDUID` or `COPYUID` response codes, it expands each `uid-set` into an array of integers. On a 64 bit system, these arrays will expand to 8 bytes for each number in the set. A malicious IMAP server may send specially crafted `APPENDUID` or `COPYUID` responses with very large `uid-set` ranges. The `Net::IMAP` client parses each server response in a separat...
### Impact A vulnerability has been reported in Password Pusher where an attacker can copy the session cookie before a user logs out, potentially allowing session hijacking. Although the session token is replaced and invalidated upon logout, if an attacker manages to capture the session cookie before this process, they can use the token to gain unauthorized access to the user's session until the token expires or is manually cleared. This vulnerability hinges on the attacker's ability to access the session cookie during an active session, either through a man-in-the-middle attack, by exploiting another vulnerability like XSS, or via direct access to the victim's device. ### Patches Although there is no direct resolution to this vulnerability, it is recommended to always use the latest version of Password Pusher to best mitigate risk. ### Workarounds If self-hosting, ensure Password Pusher is hosted exclusively over SSL connections to encrypt traffic and prevent session cookies fr...

## Summary There is a possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer 1.6.0 when used with Rails >= 7.1.0. * Versions affected: 1.6.0 * Not affected: < 1.6.0 * Fixed versions: 1.6.1 ## Impact A possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer may allow an attacker to inject content if HTML5 sanitization is enabled and the application developer has overridden the sanitizer's allowed tags in the following way: - the "noscript" element is explicitly allowed Code is only impacted if Rails is configured to use HTML5 sanitization, please see documentation for [`config.action_view.sanitizer_vendor`](https://guides.rubyonrails.org/configuring.html#config-action-view-sanitizer-vendor) and [`config.action_text.sanitizer_vendor`](https://guides.rubyonrails.org/configuring.html#config-action-text-sanitizer-vendor) for more information on these configuration options.
