libjpeg commit 281daa9 was discovered to contain an infinite loop via the component Frame::ParseTrailer.
Out-of-bounds write in the BIOS firmware for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
### Impact Our library allows strings to be parsed as functions and stored as a specialized component, [`JsonFunctionValue`](https://github.com/oxyno-zeta/react-editable-json-tree/blob/09a0ca97835b0834ad054563e2fddc6f22bc5d8c/src/components/JsonFunctionValue.js). To do this, Javascript's [`eval`](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/eval) function was used to execute strings that begin with "function" as Javascript. This was an oversight that unfortunately allows arbitrary code to be executed if it exists as a value within the JSON structure being displayed. Given that this component may often be used to display data from arbitrary, untrusted sources, this is extremely dangerous. One important note is that users who have defined a custom [`onSubmitValueParser`](https://github.com/oxyno-zeta/react-editable-json-tree/tree/09a0ca97835b0834ad054563e2fddc6f22bc5d8c#onsubmitvalueparser) callback prop on the [`JsonTree`](https://github.com/oxyno-ze...
By Jon Munshaw. Welcome to this week’s edition of the Threat Source newsletter. As the data privacy landscape gets increasingly murky, app developers and device manufacturers are finding new ways to sure up users’ personal information. Of course, all users have to do is go out of their way to opt-in. Apple recently announced a new Lockdown Mode for the iOS operating system that powers the company’s iPhones. When enabled, it turns off many of the features that attackers will exploit when targeting a mobile device with spyware. Spyware is a growing concern across the world, especially the NSO Group’s Pegasus tool. With Lockdown Mode enabled, a hypothetical attacker would not have access to certain functions on the phone, and it blocks access to important APIs such as speech and facial recognition, which research has shown are relatively easy to bypass. In a review of Lockdown Mode, Zack Whittaker of TechCrunch said, “...we didn’t find using our iPhone in Lockdown Mode t...
Hyperledger Fabric is an enterprise-grade permissioned distributed ledger framework for developing solutions and applications. If a gateway client application sends a malformed request to a gateway peer it may crash the peer node. Version 2.4.6 checks for the malformed gateway request and returns an error to the gateway client. There are no known workarounds, users must upgrade to version 2.4.6.
** DISPUTED ** An issue was discovered in Qualys Cloud Agent 4.8.0-49. It writes "ps auxwwe" output to the /var/log/qualys/qualys-cloud-agent-scan.log file. This may, for example, unexpectedly write credentials (from environment variables) to disk in cleartext. NOTE: there are no common circumstances in which qualys-cloud-agent-scan.log can be read by a user other than root; however, the file contents could be exposed through site-specific operational practices. The vendor does NOT characterize this as a vulnerability because the ps data collection is intentional, and would only capture credentials on a machine that was already affected by the CWE-214 weakness.
