If a user does not have direct access to the elevation feature through group policies, they are prompted to enter a PIN code in a challenge-response manner upon attempting to elevate privileges. The challenge's response uses a simple algorithm that can be easily emulated via data (customer ID and device name) available to all users, and thus any user can elevate to Administrator privilege.

The Broadcom brcmfmac WiFi driver prior to commit 1b5e2423164b3670e8bc9174e4762d297990deff is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow. An issue existed in the pausing of FaceTime video. The issue was resolved with improved logic. This issue is fixed in iOS 12.2, macOS Mojave 10.14.4, watchOS 5.2. A user’s video may not be paused in a FaceTime call if they exit the FaceTime app while the call is ringing.
