GHSA-hmfx-3pcx-653p: Supplementary groups are not set up properly in github.com/containerd/containerd

### Impact A bug was found in containerd where supplementary groups are not set up properly inside a container. If an attacker has direct access to a container and manipulates their supplementary group access, they may be able to use supplementary group access to bypass primary group restrictions in some cases, potentially gaining access to sensitive information or gaining the ability to execute code in that container. Downstream applications that use the containerd client library may be affected as well. ### Patches This bug has been fixed in containerd v1.6.18 and v.1.5.18. Users should update to these versions and recreate containers to resolve this issue. Users who rely on a downstream application that uses containerd's client library should check that application for a separate advisory and instructions. ### Workarounds Ensure that the `"USER $USERNAME"` Dockerfile instruction is not used. Instead, set the container entrypoint to a value similar to `ENTRYPOINT ["su", "-",...

Related CVEs: * CVE-2022-41854: Those using Snakeyaml to parse untrusted YAML files may be vulnerable to Denial of Service attacks (DOS). If the parser is running on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that causes the parser to crash by stack overflow. This effect may support a denial of service attack. * CVE-2022-41881: A flaw was found in c...

CVE-2023-0568: 1-byte array overrun in common path resolve code

In PHP 8.0.X before 8.0.28, 8.1.X before 8.1.16 and 8.2.X before 8.2.3, core path resolution function allocate buffer one byte too small. When resolving paths with lengths close to system MAXPATHLEN setting, this may lead to the byte after the allocated buffer being overwritten with NUL value, which might lead to unauthorized data access or modification.

Oligo Security Takes Aim at Open Source Vulnerabilities

The startup's software helps organizations secure their containers in the cloud by teasing out which packages are running and which are vulnerable.

CVE-2022-47508: SAM 2023.1 Release Notes

Customers who had configured their polling to occur via Kerberos did not expect NTLM Traffic on their environment, but since we were querying for data via IP address this prevented us from utilizing Kerberos.

CVE-2022-47507: SolarWinds Platform 2023.1 Release Notes

SolarWinds Platform was susceptible to the Deserialization of Untrusted Data. This vulnerability allows a remote adversary with Orion admin-level account access to SolarWinds Web Console to execute arbitrary commands.

Debian Security Advisory 5349-1

Debian Linux Security Advisory 5349-1 - Hubert Kario discovered a timing side channel in the RSA decryption implementation of the GNU TLS library.

GitLab GitHub Repo Import Deserialization Remote Code Execution

An authenticated user can import a repository from GitHub into GitLab. If a user attempts to import a repo from an attacker-controlled server, the server will reply with a Redis serialization protocol object in the nested default_branch. GitLab will cache this object and then deserialize it when trying to load a user session, resulting in remote code execution.

Kernel Live Patch Security Notice LNS-0091-1

It was discovered that a race condition existed in the memory address space accounting implementation in the Linux kernel, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. A local attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code. Sonke Huster discovered that a use-after-free vulnerability existed in the WiFi driver stack in the Linux kernel. A physically proximate attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code.
