CVE-2014-0160

The (1) TLS and (2) DTLS implementations in OpenSSL 1.0.1 before 1.0.1g do not properly handle Heartbeat Extension packets, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from process memory via crafted packets that trigger a buffer over-read, as demonstrated by reading private keys, related to d1_both.c and t1_lib.c, aka the Heartbleed bug.

Security Advisory 2953095: recommendation to stay protected and for detections

Today, Microsoft released Security Advisory 2953095 to notify customers of a vulnerability in Microsoft Word. At this time, we are aware of limited, targeted attacks directed at Microsoft Word 2010. This blog will discuss mitigations and temporary defensive strategies that will help customers to protect themselves while we are working on a security update.

CVE-2012-6638

The tcp_rcv_state_process function in net/ipv4/tcp_input.c in the Linux kernel before 3.2.24 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (kernel resource consumption) via a flood of SYN+FIN TCP packets, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-2663.

CVE-2011-4093: security - Re: CVE request: 3 flaws in libobby and libnet6

Integer overflow in inc/server.hpp in libnet6 (aka net6) before 1.3.14 might allow remote attackers to hijack connections and gain privileges as other users by making a large number of connections until the overflow occurs and an ID of another user is provided.

CVE-2013-5891: Oracle Critical Patch Update - January 2014

Unspecified vulnerability in the MySQL Server component in Oracle MySQL 5.5.33 and earlier and 5.6.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to affect availability via unknown vectors related to Partition.

CVE-2013-7005: Offensive Security’s Exploit Database Archive

D-Link DSR-150 with firmware before 1.08B44; DSR-150N with firmware before 1.05B64; DSR-250 and DSR-250N with firmware before 1.08B44; and DSR-500, DSR-500N, DSR-1000, and DSR-1000N with firmware before 1.08B77 stores account passwords in cleartext, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information by reading the Users[#]["Password"] fields in /tmp/teamf1.cfg.ascii.

Security Advisory 2916652 released, Certificate Trust List updated

Microsoft is updating the Certificate Trust List (CTL) for all supported releases of Microsoft Windows to remove the trust of a mis-issued third-party digital certificate, which could be used to spoof content and perform phishing or man-in-the-middle attacks against web properties. With this action, customers will be automatically be protected against this issue.

CVE-2013-6383

The aac_compat_ioctl function in drivers/scsi/aacraid/linit.c in the Linux kernel before 3.11.8 does not require the CAP_SYS_RAWIO capability, which allows local users to bypass intended access restrictions via a crafted ioctl call.

CVE-2013-4475: Samba - Release Notes Archive

Samba 3.2.x through 3.6.x before 3.6.20, 4.0.x before 4.0.11, and 4.1.x before 4.1.1, when vfs_streams_depot or vfs_streams_xattr is enabled, allows remote attackers to bypass intended file restrictions by leveraging ACL differences between a file and an associated alternate data stream (ADS).

Security Advisory 2868725: Recommendation to disable RC4

In light of recent research into practical attacks on biases in the RC4 stream cipher, Microsoft is recommending that customers enable TLS1.2 in their services and take steps to retire and deprecate RC4 as used in their TLS implementations. Microsoft recommends TLS1.2 with AES-GCM as a more secure alternative which will provide similar performance.
